Matt Plaumann makes traditional tattoos that are based within his personal aesthetic. His aesthetic is influenced heavily by traditional tattoo flash, eastern and western folk imagery, film and comic book illustrations.  Tattoos created with heavy outlines and filled with bright and bold colors are his preferred method of application. 

Matt Plaumann, born in Bangor Maine in 1985, spent his teenage years going to punk and hardcore shows. After a period of searching and a degree in audio production from the New England institute of Art in Brookline MA, Matt began tattooing in 2012 in Portland ME under the tutelage of John Biswell. During his time working at Made-Rite Tattoo, Matt began traveling around the country working tattoo conventions and doing guest spots. Matt is currently working full time at Blaque Owl Tattoo in Missoula MT. For upcoming travel information check his Instagram.
